Having A Plan For Your Workout

We all know going to the gym is important. We all know kicking ass in the gym is important. But how many of us go into the gym with intention and purpose?

I see a lot of people walking around, thinking about what’s next when that should be the last thing on your mind. Once you start that workout it’s focus time. Whatever it is you need to do to drill down, clear your head, and get ready. Do it. Make it a habit. Make it a ritual. Then, when you get in that gym, its warm up, workout, and get out.

Now for each person that might be different. Whether its power lifting, cardio, flexibility, strength, endurance, etc, one thing should stay the same. You have written down or made a note in your phone of exactly what you are doing in exactly what order. and you are pushing yourself farther each time you walk in those doors.

You don’t have to kill yourself but it is crucial in fitness to be moving forward. A minute longer run, two more reps, adding drop sets, regardless of how you do it, every time you should be pushing to a new level. Even if it’s a tiny amount.

So know your goals. Find someone who can help you figure out how to get those goals and WRITE IT DOWN.
